Licenses & Certifications
It is important that those persons conducting certain work or practices maintain a recognized level of knowledge about the task they perform. The NDEQ administers or oversees certification programs that ensure that in each case, our ground water and surface water are protected to the extent possible. Continuing education is an important component of certification programs.
Chemigation
Information about chemigation applicator training dates and certified applicators. The Chemigation Program is responsible for protecting the irrigation water source from contamination by fertilizer or pesticides
Onsite Wastewater Program (septic systems, private lagoons)
Those who perform work on private on-site wastewater treatment systems (septic systems, private lagoons) are required to be certified by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality
Operator Certification (wastewater)
This program is responsible for administration of the wastewater certification examinations and for certification renewal of operators who have obtained the necessary continuing education.
Section 401 Water Quality Certification
Evaluate applications for federal permits and licenses that involve a discharge to waters of the state and determines whether the proposed activity complies with Title 117 – Nebraska Surface Water Quality Standards.
