Subpart B implements Sections 112(g)(2)(B) and (j) of the Clean Air Act:
- Section 112(g)(2)(B)
- Requires new or reconstructed Major Sources of hazardous air pollutants to apply case-by-case maximum achievable control technology (MACT), if no NESHAP applies.
- Section 112(j)
- Requires Major Sources of Hazardous Air Pollutants to obtain a Title V operating permit with case-by-case MACT requirements, if they are within a listed source category where EPA was required to promulgate a standard and no standard exists.
