Site Summary:

This site lies in the Platte River Valley about two miles east of the river. NDEQ became aware of the site in late 1994 during a tank removal that was performed by the current owner after he purchased the property. Ground water levels are very shallow at this site, averaging about 5.5 feet. The GW levels have been observed as high as 3 feet and as low as 8 feet; however very little hydraulic gradient is present at the site, and GW flow direction appears to change with the seasons. Both NDEQ and the property owner feel that this site is best suited for overexcavation of the plume down to about 10 feet below surface. A private drinking water well is located on the south end of the plume. This well is screened deep, approximately 60'.
