NDEE presents webinar on changes to Nebraska’s Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Air Quality Regulations

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy will present an outreach webinar on future changes to Nebraska's existing municipal solid waste landfill (MSWL) air quality regulations on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 11 a.m. This webinar is intended for owners and operators of municipal solid waste landfills, state and local regulators and the communities that host these facilities. This webinar will provide beneficial information about the following federal rules: New Source Performance Standard for existing landfills 40 CFR Part 60 Subpart Cf and 40 CFR Part 62 OOO. NDEE is planning to update Title 129, Chapter 12 to reflect the new federal requirements. The webinar is also open to the general public.

This is a continued effort of the agency to engage, inform and make compliance easy for the regulated community and interested stakeholders and supports the Department's vision and mission of protecting and improving human health, the environment and energy resources.

About the webinar: The Changes to Nebraska's Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Air Quality Regulations webinar will help owners and operators of municipal solid waste landfills in Nebraska understand the future changes to Nebraska's MSWL air quality regulations for existing solid waste landfills and how they overlap with the previous requirements.

About the presenter: Danielle Hardesty is a program specialist for the air program at the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE). She focuses on air quality regulations for stationary sources under the New Source Performance Standards Program and Air Toxics Program. She also is responsible for developing Clean Air Act 111(d) plans for implementing emissions guidelines for existing sources. Danielle holds a bachelor of science degree in environmental studies and is currently working toward her master's in community and regional planning, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
