July 2023 Monthly Metrics

NDEE produces a monthly metrics report to measure what the agency has accomplished; to set annual and longer-term goals; and to examine these goals against accomplishments to ensure continuous process improvements.

Accomplishments
  • NDEE is testing its new online tire hauler permit system. Those applying for a new tire hauler permit, and existing haulers looking to renew their permit each year, have submitted applications through a paper-driven process. This online system ensures applicants submit complete information and cuts down on the time NDEE spends managing and reviewing the information.
  • The Energy Team is moving forward on applicable grant programs from the IIJA and the IRA:
  • o Preparing application for the State-Based Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Grant Program
o Submitted Grid Resilience Formula Grant application – awaiting DOE approval
o Submitted application for the Energy Efficient Conservation Block Grant
o Developing an energy audit program for public schools with SEP BIL funding and Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund

  • The State Revolving Fund Section continues its rural outreach regarding the Private Well RO program and successfully solicited the help of the USDA-Farm Service Agency to post Private Well RO program information in their August newsletter.
  • The department issued a mid-year report on nitrate and water quality which included nitrate data on private drinking water along with an update regarding the agency’s continued effort to protect Nebraskans and the state’s drinking water supply.

Miscellaneous
  • The State Revolving Fund Section is preparing a grant application for the Lead Remediation in Schools and Daycares program and plans to apply for the grant in September.
