NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to reissue with change the Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit for Intervet d/b/a Merck Animal Health, 21401 W. Center Rd., Elkhorn, NE 68022 (NPP# NE0114928; SIC 2836, 4953). The manufacturer of veterinary vaccines discharges process and nonprocess wastewater through Outfall 001 to the Missouri River, segment MT1-10000 of the Missouri Tributaries River Basin via the City of Omaha Papillion Creek WWTF. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
