The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) proposes to reissue with change the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System/Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPDES/NPP) permit for Becton, Dickinson and Company – Broken Bow, 150 South 1st Avenue, Broken Bow, NE (NPDES/NPP# NE0121398; SIC 3841). This facility manufactures medical supplies. Non-contact cooling water discharges through Outfall 001 to Mud Creek, Segment LO4-10200 in the Loup River Basin. Process and non-process wastewater and domestic wastewater are discharged through Outfalls P01, P02, P03, P04, and P05 to Mud Creek via the Broken Bow Wastewater Treatment Facility. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review at NDEE’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
