NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE
The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) proposes to issue a new National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System/Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPDES/NPP) permit for Schwartz Wilke Farms, LLP, 33296 19th Street, Sleepy Eye, MN d/b/a Leigh Truck Wash, 168 N. Main Street, Leigh, NE (NPDES# NE0139718; SIC 7542). This facility washes the interior and exteriors of livestock trucks. Solids are separated and stored until land applied. Wastewater is discharged through Outfall 001 to the Leigh publicly owned treatment works, which land applies wastewater. Land application is in the Elkhorn River Basin. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review at NDEE’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
