PUBLIC NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

On November 29, 2019, notice was given to the public of the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy’s (NDEE) intent to issue a Plantwide Applicability Limitation (PAL) permit for the pollutants Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) and Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) to Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) - Nebraska City Station (FID 58343), a fossil-fueled electrical generation facility (Standard Industrial Classification code 4911) located at 7264 L Road, Nebraska City, Otoe County, Nebraska. The term of the proposed permit is ten (10) years.

During the comment period a public hearing was requested.

Notice is now given pursuant to Chapter 14 of Nebraska Administrative Code Title 129 - Nebraska Air Quality Regulations and Title 115 – Rules of Practice and Procedure, Chapter 3, that the NDEE will hold a public hearing on the proposed permit. The public hearing will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020, beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Rowe Memorial Public Safety Complex (Nebraska City Police Department), 1518 Central Ave, Nebraska City, NE. Preceding the hearing, NDEE representatives will hold an information session from 4:30 to 5:30 P.M. to answer questions from the public related to the proposed permit. The comment period is also hereby extended and written comments received by NDEE prior to the end of the day on Monday, February 24, 2020, will be considered in the final decision on the proposed permit.

The proposed air quality PAL permit and supporting materials are available for inspection at the office of the NDEE, Suite 400, The Atrium, 1200 "N" Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68508, and electronically at http://dee.ne.gov.
