NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to reissue with change a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System/Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPDES/NPP) permit to Zoetis LLC, 601 W. Cornhusker HWY, Lincoln, NE 68521 (NPDES/NPP# NE0132110; SIC 2834 & 2836). Zoetis LLC manufactures vaccine and bacterin products for animals. Outfall 001 discharges process wastewater to the City of Lincoln publically owned treatment works which discharges to Salt Creek, segment LP2-20000 in the Lower Platte River Basin. Outfall 004 discharges nonprocess wastewater to an undesignated tributary to Oak Creek, segment LP2-20500 in the Lower Platte River Basin and to Pfizer Pond which has been previously determined to not be Waters of the State. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
