The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to reissue with change a Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit to Kurt Manufacturing Co., 114 West O St., Lyman, NE (NPP# NE0060364; SIC 3451), a job shop manufacturing operation utilizing zinc electroplating with clear chromate top coating parts and hydraulic couplings. Process wastewater is treated by a chrome treatment system which discharges through Outfall 001 to Horse Creek, segment NP3-30600 of the North Platte River Basin, via the Village of Lyman publically owned treatment works. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
