NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to reissue with change the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System/Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPDES/NPP) permit for Todd’s BBI, 109 S. Main St., Madison, NE (NPDES/NPP# NE0137740; SIC 2033 & 2079), a manufacturer of a variety of food products including butter substitute, sauces, salsa, and other food items. Process wastewater and pretreated process wastewater from equipment and tank washout used in food processing activities discharges through Outfall 001, Outfall 002 and Outfall 003 to Union Creek, segment EL1-22000 of the Elkhorn River Basin via the City of Madison publically owned treatment works. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
