NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to issue a new National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for Fortigen, LLC, 2240 R St., Geneva, NE (NPDES# NE0139351; SIC 2873). The nitrogen fertilizer manufacturer discharges process and non-process wastewater through Outfall 001 to Turkey Creek, segment BB2-40000 in the Big Blue River Basin. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
