HAZARDOUS WASTE CLOSURE PLAN
NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (NDEQ)

NDEQ HAS RECEIVED AND REVIEWED THE PREFERRED PUMP & EQUIPMENT L. P. DBA PULSTAR MANUFACTURING CLOSURE PLAN FOR THE HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT SITE (HWMA) LOCATED AT THE PROPERTY ONE (1) MILE EAST OF DODGE NEBRASKA AT 278 COUNTY ROAD 4. THE FACILITY NDEQ/EPA IDENTIFICATION NUMBER IS NER000513051.

This closure plan is to address a clean-up of a hazardous waste soil generated from inappropriate disposal of waste material generated from the manufacturing process. The closure activities include taking soil and groundwater samples. The sampling results will determine if additional cleanup activities are required. The Preferred Pump & Equipment L.P. dba Pulstar Manufacturing closure plan for the hazardous waste area is intended to meet all required performance standards as outlined in 40 CFR 264.111. When final closure is completed, Pulstar Manufacturing and an independent professional engineer registered in the State of Nebraska will certify the closure activities.

Within 45 days after the initial publication of this notice, persons may submit comments and/or request or petition the Director of NDEQ for a public hearing concerning the approval of the Closure Plan. Comments received during the 45-day public notice period ending November 21, 2017 will be given consideration in the final decision concerning Closure Plan approval. A request or petition for a public hearing must state the nature of the issues to be raised and submit arguments and factual grounds supporting such a position. If a public hearing is granted by the director, the hearing will be public noticed for at least 30 days prior to its occurrence.
