NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to reissue without change a Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit to Valmont Industries, McCook Division, 75 South Highway 83, McCook, NE (NPP# NE0137987; SIC 3523), a manufacturer of center pivot irrigation and linear irrigation systems. Operations include preparing, cutting, bending, grinding, galvanizing, and assembling steel shapes for irrigation systems. A chemical etching process is classified under the metal finishing category CFR 40, Part 433. Outfall 001 discharges process wastewater to the City of McCook publically owned treatment works which discharges to the Republican River, segment RE3-10000 of the Republican River Basin. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
