The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to reissue with change a Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit to Diversified Foods and Seasonings, LLC., 1320 S. 19th Street., Nebraska City, NE (NPP# NE0137910; SIC 2035,2038,2022, 2092 and 2099). The facility processes and packages specialty food products and seasonings. Wastewater is treated by a dissolved air flotation system followed by an aeration basin. Treated wastewater is discharged through Outfall 001 to the Nebraska City publically owned treatment works which discharges final effluent to the Missouri River, Segment NE1-10000 of the Nemaha River Basin. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
