NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A
CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATING PERMIT

Pursuant to the Neb. Rev. Stat. 54-2425 (4) as amended, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (Department) is issuing notice to provide an opportunity for any interested person to submit written comments on the proposed decision for the following animal feeding operation.
This Public Notice period will be from May 19, 2017 through June 20, 2017. Comments made should pertain to issues for which the Department has authority under the Livestock Waste Management Act (Neb. Rev. Stat. Section 54-2416 through 54-2438).

The proposed livestock waste control facility (LWCF) is located in the NE 1/4, NE 1/4, Section 06, Township 18N, Range 07E, Dodge County, Nebraska. The application as submitted is for an existing maximum of 500 head of swine greater than 55 lbs. and for a proposed expansion of 1,999 head of swine, for a total maximum capacity of 2,499 head of swine greater than 55 lbs.
The existing LWCF includes one building with underfloor deep pit, and the application as proposed will construct one new building with underfloor deep pit.
The Department has reviewed the application to ensure compliance with the Livestock Waste Management Act and Title 130–Livestock Waste Control Regulations. Currently, the Department intends to issue a Construction and Operating Permit for the proposed LWCF. Upon completing a review of any written comments received, NDEQ will make a final decision on the permit application and respond to any comments.
