The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) proposes to issue a new Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit for BNSF Railway Company – Alliance Wastewater Treatment Plant, 100 East Kansas Street, Alliance, NE (NPP# NE0139581; SIC 4011). A wastewater treatment plant that treats wastewater generated through railroad maintenance operations. Treated wastewater is discharged through Outfall 001 to Subbasin NI4 of the Niobrara River Basin via the City of Alliance publicly owned treatment works. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review at NDEE’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
