NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) proposes to reissue with change a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to Ash Grove Cement Company, d/b/a Ash Grove Cement Company, Weeping Water Quarry, 16215 Highway 50, Louisville, NE, (NPDES# NE0134228; SIC 1422). This facility quarries limestone. Dewatering wastewater discharges from a sedimentation basin through Outfall 001 to an undesignated tributary of Weeping Water Creek, Segment NE1-13000 in the Nemaha River Basin. This facility is currently inactive. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review at NDEE’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
