PUBLIC NOTICE is given in accordance with Title 132 - Integrated Solid Waste Management Regulations, Chapter 2, §011, that the Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy (NDEE) has received an application to renew the permit of Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska (SWANN) Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, P.O. Box 590, Chadron, NE. After review of the permit application, a preliminary determination has been made to recommend renewal of the permit. The term of the permit shall be February 23, 2020 through February 22, 2025.

FACILITY DESCRIPTION. The permit allows the operation of an existing municipal solid waste landfill under Nebraska's solid waste management laws and regulations. The landfill shall receive household waste, alone or in combination with other types of wastes such as commercial solid waste, industrial waste, nonhazardous sludge, or conditionally exempt small quantity generator waste, and which is not a land application unit, surface impoundment, injection well, or waste pit.

FACILITY LOCATION. The property is located approximately 3 miles west of Chadron on Highway 20 and 10 miles northwest on Highway 385 and 1 mile N/NE off of 385. The legal description of the Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska Municipal Solid Waste Landfill is the W ½ Section 29 Township 35 North Range 49 West of the 6^th Principal Meridian Dawes County, Nebraska.

OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND HEARING. The public may submit written comments and may also request a public hearing on the permitting decision. A request for a hearing must be made in writing and state the issues proposed for discussion and their relation to the proposed permit renewal. The NDEE will make a final decision to renew or deny the permit based on the permit application, the compliance status of SWANN Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, and public comment received. NDEE will publish notice of the final decision and notify the applicant and other interested persons.

COMMENT PERIOD. All comments or requests for a hearing must be postmarked by November 30, 2019.
