NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE
The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) proposes to reissue with change the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System/Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPDES/NPP) permit to Henningsen Foods, Inc., 200 East Railway, Ravenna, NE (NPP# NE0134112; SIC 3556, 2015.00, 2015.99), a poultry processing operation. The treated process and non-process wastewater from egg cleaning, breaking, and equipment washing discharges through Outfall 001 to the South Loup River, Segment LO4-10000 of the Loup River Basin, via the Ravenna Wastewater Treatment Facility. The wastewater from the cleaning of fat separation tanks every 4 months is land applied. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review at NDEE’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
