The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes issuance of a new General Permit under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) to prevent discharges to surface waters. CAFOs within the State of Nebraska that confine only cattle, either in open lots or under roof, are eligible for coverage.
The Public Notice period will run from June 7, 2017 through July 10, 2017.

The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review online at under Public Notices or at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. All comments received during the public comment period will be considered in the final decision for issuance of this general permit.
