NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to reissue with change a Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit to Nebraska Aluminum Castings, Inc., 4280 E. Hadco Rd., Hastings, NE (NPP# NE0133337; SIC 3363). The facility manufactures custom aluminum die casting products. The process wastewater is circulated in a closed loop system, collected in a settling tank, recirculated, and then sent to an evaporator which discharges through Outfall 001 to Big Sandy Creek, Segment LB2-10300 in the Little Blue River Basin, via the City of Hastings Maxon Avenue Wastewater Treatment Facility. The facility has not discharged process wastewater since installation of the evaporation system. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
