The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) proposes to reissue with change the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for Coreslab Structures (Omaha) Inc., 802 Allied Rd., La Platte, NE (NPDES# NE0124052; SIC 3272). This facility manufactures pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete products. Non-process wastewater discharges through Outfall 007 into an infiltration cell and evaporates and/or seeps into the soil. Reject wastewater from a water treatment system for hand washing and restroom use discharge through Outfall 008 to a limestone bottom containment pit and normally seeps into the ground. Backwash wastewater from an iron and manganese filtration system from a plant water heater discharges through Outfall 009 to an infiltration cell. Wash water from the Panel Wash Station collection basin discharges through Outfall 010 into an evaporation basin. Backwash wastewater from an iron and manganese filtration system from a plant water heater discharges through Outfall 011 to an infiltration cell. Cumulated discharges of the above listed outfalls discharge through Outfall 012 to an unnamed tributary of the Missouri River, Segment LP1-10000 in the Missouri Tributaries River Basin. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review at NDEE’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
