The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to issue a new Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit to Jack Links, 3302 Harlan Lewis Road, Bellevue, Nebraska (NPP# NE0139505; SIC 2013), a processor of beef, pork, and chicken cooked into protein snacks. Process wastewater discharges through Outfall 001. Non-process wastewater, non-contact cooling water and boiler blowdown discharges through Outfall 002. Both Outfall 001 and Outfall 002 discharge to the Missouri River, Segment MT1-10000 via the City of Omaha Papillion Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
