NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) proposes to modify the Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit for Intervet d/b/a Merck Animal Health, 21401 West Center Rd., Elkhorn, NE 68022 (NPP# NE0114928; SIC 2836, 4953). This facility is a manufacturer of veterinary vaccines. Process and nonprocess wastewater discharge through Outfall 001 to the Missouri River, Segment MT1-10000 of the Missouri Tributaries River Basin via the City of Omaha Papillion Creek WWRF. Modifications include updates to general conditions and electronic reporting, and Outfall 001 limits are revised. The permit modification will not change the expiration date of the permit and will continue to restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEE’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
