NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to issue with change a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for TRW Groundwater Remediation d/b/a Northrop Gumman Systems Corporation, 209 North Airport Road, McCook, NE (NPDES# NE0128562; ). The TRW facility has been closed since 1984, The remediation system pumps and treats groundwater impacted by TCE contamination. Treated groundwater is discharged to Kelly Creek segment RE3 of the Republican River Basin, or can be land applied . The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
