Staffing Changes at NDEE
The Onsite Section is happy to announce two new people joining the section. Tricia Scott is the new Staff Assistant to the section. She replaces Mary Wilson, who is now part time. Tricia comes to us from another section in the agency. Mark Lohnes also joins the section from another section of the agency. Mark will work as a Program Specialist on compliance and technical assistance issues, along with Nia. Please welcome them both.

Upcoming Continuing Education Opportunities
All certified professionals are required to complete 12 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) during the two-year certification cycle, in order to renew their certification (unless you first became certified in 2017, then for the first renewal cycle the required PDH is 6). Below is a list of the training that has been approved for PDH by NDEE for the remainder of 2017.

Certification Renewals
All certifications expire December 31, 2017. NDEE will mail renewal forms out in November. Please make sure we have your correct contact information. You can check the information NDEE has on file for you on our website.

Construction Permits
If a construction permit is issued by NDEE, the system must be installed as permitted; NO changes are allowed to the design without prior written approval from NDEE.

Upcoming Actvities
NDEE staff and members of the Onsite Wastewater Advisory Committee will be reviewing and updating the certification exams for the next certification period (2018 – 2019) over the next several months. Please contact Mark Bauer if you have any question or ideas about past questions, or items that may need additional emphasis on the certification exams.

NDEE staff and members of the Onsite Wastewater Advisory Committee will also be reviewing and proposing updates and modifications to the Title 124 regulations for consideration during 2018. These revisions will range from simple corrections to major updates of items such as: design of alternative treatment systems, mound system design, inspections, etc. As details of the proposed revisions are developed, NDEE will distribute them for review and comments.
